Our Story

The First Date

How did a Cali girl and a Texas boy meet and fall in love? Well, it's a pretty funny story that wouldn't have happened without a few key ingredients. 

1. The amazing city of San Francisco
2. Good friends
3. The internet
4. A mutual admiration for snuggling

While you may not be able to imagine Freddy & Alix living anywhere other than San Francisco, this wasn't always a given. They both moved to a totally different city after college.  Alix moved to Chicago and Freddy moved to Dallas. Fortunately neither lasted long. Within 6 months Alix returned to California to escape the cold and Freddy moved into his parents garage in Austin to re-evaluate his career. 

Freddy started working at Facebook in Austin where he met a good friend, Zanny Albert. After 2 years in Austin Freddy and Zanny both ended up moving to San Francisco to pursue their careers on the interwebs. While Freddy bounced around homes Zanny found a great apartment with a former sorority sister, Alix Giroux. 

One day while Alix was doing her daily routine of flipping through matches on dating apps, she realized that the mutual friend of her most recent connection was sitting next to her on the couch. Although this Freddy character seemed goofy Zanny assured Alix he was a good person and worth a date. 

They met for their first date at a bar in Hayes Valley called Two Sisters on July 15th, 2014. The date was off to a good start, so Freddy threw out his best line, "I'm a really good snuggler." Although that line had never worked before he knew that when it did, he would know that she was the one. Alix replied, "me too", and the two have been in love ever since.
